Durst Gamma is the world´s first industrial-scale inkjet printer using specially formulated, pigmented ceramic inks to digitally decorate ceramic floor and wall tiles. The Gamma offers significant economic benefits as well as superior design advantages over traditional systems.
Compared to the limitations of conventional tile decoration techniques, and other digital systems on the market, this new non-contact digital printing technology offers unlimited image variations, no setup costs thus eliminating the need to print minimum quantities, far superior image quality, definition, and dynamic range. It prints onto the same glazes used with conventional screen printing systems and the same inks can be used to decorate floor and wall tiles, as well as trim pieces/listellos obtaining a large color gamut and high densities thanks to the full CMYK process colors.

High ink volume jetting capability for strong colors and flexible production
In order to get high densities, contrast and saturated, vibrant colors it is necessary to lay down an ink quantity of around 22gr per color and per square meter at the usual linear speed of the glaze line. This quantity is not only necessary for darker designs but also light designs with darker lines, like a white marble (i.e. Calacatta) with black veins, which in case of insufficient ink amount per sqm would not have enough density and contrast, resulting in a flat, artificial non-3-dimensional look. One of the key advantages of Durst Gamma 70M is the proprietary, patented printing technology with the unreached capability to jet high ink amounts (4x more than other printers on the market at equal speed).
