Rho 162 TS - Roll-to-roll UV Inkjet Printer for Traffic Sign Applications

The Rho 162 TS joins its “big brother” Rho 161 TS – since 2008 a Durst offer, in cooperation with 3M – and is a roll-to-roll printer for road signs. More than 40 of them have been installed, primarily in Scandinavian countries and Great Britain. Since last summer road German authorities have also approved signs printed with the Rho using 3M materials. Based on the Rho 600 Pictor, the Rho 162 TS is equipped with a special unwinding mechanism, a heated print slab and the same array of nozzles as the Rho 161 TS. It prints on 3M reflector supports with 3M UV 8800 inks at rate of 12 m2/h (calculated on a standard width of 1220 mm). The Rho 162 TS also makes it possible to print pre-laminated metal signs, in the flatbed optional, and has software permitting multiple feed (signs 2 x 70 cm wide).
